Vivian Tarazona - Educator and Children's Book Author

About Me

Educator, Author & Inclusive Education Advocate

I'm a Grade 2 teacher, inclusive education advocate, and children's author whose work lives at the intersection of learning, belonging, and humanity. With teaching experience across Colombia, Spain, and Canada, I bring a global perspective to my classroom practice and believe deeply that education is not just about what children learn, but how they feel while learning.

Currently teaching in an IB Primary Years Programme school in British Columbia, I specialize in social-emotional learning (SEL), inclusive classroom design, and student voice. My practice is shaped by my work with neurodivergent learners and my commitment to creating classrooms where differences are understood as strengths and belonging built through connection, dignity, and care.

I'm also a graduate student in MEd in Inclusive Education at UNBC, where my research focuses on children's experiences of belonging, social-emotional skills, and inclusive school communities. Alongside my academic work, I created "Gabe Doesn't Fit in the Box"โ€”a book inspired by real students and real classrooms.

I see myself as a seed of change sharing what I learn so others can bloom.
